Keeping it Simple

Common household cleaners often contain harsh chemicals.  We make our own cleaning scrub that not only works well but feels good and smells clean and delicious. Can cleaning bathroom showers and kitchen sinks be more enjoyable? Absolutely.

Cleansing Scrub

Ingredients
15 drops Sweet Orange essential oil (Citrus sinensis)
15 drops Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
10 drops Peppermint essential oil (Mentha x piperita)
1 cup of baking soda
3 tablespoons Castile soap
1/4 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon of white vinegar

Directions
In a 16 oz. wide mouth container add one cup of baking soda. and 3 tablespoons Castile soap. Mix. Add 1/4  tablespoons cornstarch  and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar.  Mix well and then add all your essential oils. Easy!  Add more vinegar or Castile soap as needed to make a smooth, thick consistency.

Use about a teaspoon of this mixture on a scrubby sponge to clean the shower, sinks or bathtub.

Plumeria

We have this incredible Plumeria tree outside in our backyard (common name Frangipani and Latin name Plumeria rubra f. lutea). Every few days I pick one of the flowers and put it on my desk. The flower keeps me company for about 3 days, the aroma filling my room and inspiring me as I work. I am reminded of how a simple flower can bring such joy.

I love Christopher's description of the aroma on his website White Lotus Aromatics. "The absolute displays a diffusive, heavy, exotic- floral, slightly pungent-green, powdery, odor with a creamy, fruity, floral undertone. It is used in fine perfumery for exotic tropical bouquets, heavy-oriental florals, fantasy bouquets, and in gardenia, tuberose, lilac and lily-of-the valley bases."

Puzhen Essential Oil Diffusers

Puzhen Aroma Diffusers recently sent me their Yun diffuser to try out. This diffuser has truly changed the way I relate to diffusing essential oils. I have always used electric diffusers and have had a few that worked well, but never one this beautiful!   I didn’t know what to expect when I tried the Yun out, and it surprised me in every way.

Puzhen’s product series utilize ancient Chinese craftsmanship and modern technology to create high quality aromatherapy diffusers. They have eight different diffusers, ranging in price from $49-$419.

This is what they say about the diffuser I have: Read More
